SQ5 Brakes and Rotors $$$$$
Anyone replace yet? The dealer just quoted me $2880!!!!!
|
Rears are same as regular Q5, fronts cost a lot.
Looking online quickly, OE pads and rotors should be around 800$ for fronts and 300$ for rears. So your quote seems high, even for a dealer. Buy the parts and get another mechanic to install them. |
It would take longer to drive to the dealer than it would take for the DIY of the front brakes. The rears require a little more due to the parking brake. ^^^^^Agree with the above!

Mine are due to be replaced at the next oil change. Audi dealer quote $2180. My Indie shop quote $1653. Both include replacing the brake fluid. The front rotors are only available through VW/ Audi. and they are $900/ pair. I'm going to replace with Audi pads because every German car I've had, and replaced with other pads due to dust, I've been very disappointed with the pedal feel afterwards.

I was quoted by Audi dealer for front pads and discs at $675.00. Your quote seems a little on the higher side :/

See first screen shot below for both Audi list, and discounted web type dealer price--audiusaparts.com/Sunset Audi in Portland OR for that particular screen shot. Meaningfully less than $900 for pair, even at list. You can also see pads and sensor price in second screen shot. Cheaper than the "indy" places like ECS BTW when dealing with dealer source parts.
