Yes. Do your research. Claim it under FEW. You shouldn’t pay anything. I’m going to save another person ~$1000

Got the same P05A0 “Active Grille Air Shutter “A” Stuck On” error code yesterday. Cleared it with my Obdeleven and it came back on 5 minutes later. It also caused the start/stop function unavailable error code as well. Took it to the dealer and brought the above TSB with me. They checked the software and determined it was not software related and required the shutter motor to be replaced. Based on my conversation with the SA and Tech because I am tuned they will be unable to file the federal emission warranty since it will be required for my car to be hooked up to the Audi Mothership and that alone will TD1 me. Cost of replacing the shutter motor is $1900 before taxes and shop equipment. Indy shop don’t have any appointments in the near term.

Sorry to hear, but I had the same thing as you know. What is your local dealer's hourly labor rate?

Ktran350 04-22-2021 04:16 AM

Just an update. Part cost was $80, Labor was $1800 ($178ish per hour) for 10.5 hours of work. Took the car home last night and half way home the car threw the same warning again. Took it back this morning 🤞

Plot thickens. Please keep us posted. Best of luck!

Update II: The tech messed up the basic adaptation coding. They cleared the errors, recoded the module and test drove it. Everything is working fine now.

I'm fighting with my dealer about it today, and they wont budge
I might be eating this cost unless someone educate the Audi South Orlando dealership.

one of the issues you may come across is the fact that FL has no vehicle inspection so although your car is throwing a CEL (or MIL), there is no (emissions) inspection that it needs to pass. because of this dealers who service cars registered in FL may not have to pick up the bill on this.

Here in MA there is an emissions inspection where the car is plugged into a computer and codes are read. if the car throws a CEL/MIL, the car will immediately fail the inspection process. because of this dealers are required to fix any issue that throws a CEL on a car that gets MA state (emissions) inspection during it's 8yr/80k E1E (federal emissions) warranty period.

does Georgia have a vehicle inspection requirement? maybe a phone call and road trip might be worth it if the dealership in FL isn't cooperating. best of luck.
