REALLY, everyone knows only a stage 3 B5 could do that. RS4's are way too slow.

In the real world they have significant traction troubles.

Not really, I've, no wait, a friend who has a car just like mine has done the same...

thing. I agree on paper the vette should win, but between the downshift and wheelspin/traction control the vette gives up a length or two right off the bat. If you only run up to 80 mph it just doesn't have time to catch you. I really think it is almost like racing one in the rain. That light weight and extra HP only count if it is completely hooked up. Even a little Oklahoma dust really levels the field for Quaatro.

The test method Edmunds uses will always show slightly slower times than the major car mags...

As a side note..

Ive been with a Z06 for the last 2.5 years and its a completely different animal to race then AWD.. There is no WOT with street tires in 1st/2nd, and in the cold there sure as hell is no traction, even when doing 98mph with 325 35 18" pilot sports in the rear..

I let a friend drive my car once, and while driving a 6.0L Pontiac GTO rolls up and I say, go ahead, have some fun.. So we take off and we're dead even with the GTO (background, my Z06 is 405hp, ran an 11.82 stock, weighs 3150 without people and the GTO is about 4000lbs, and has 400hp) .. Turns to me and goes WTF? I start laughing and go, listen to me, drop it down to 3rd, put the traction control into competition mode, start from about 55-60mph, and make sure your foot is on the gas maintaining speed so when he goes your not starting from 0% throttle.. He goes okay.. Does what I say, and this time around with the GTo getting a jump, he destroys the GTO.. Then asks wtf?

I laughed and told him thats why you constantly beat cars that are faster on paper with your Sti, they dont know how to drive..

That was with drag radials, had the car been running my new tires (325 30 18 mich. pilot sports) he more then likely would have broke the tires loose during the 3-4 shift at 98.. Then again, I typically dont let anyone drive my car unless I have drag radials on it..

Not saying you should have lost or won, just sharing my experience which happens to demonstrate the importance of knowing a car, and know how to drive it properly...
