Question XM or Sirius?

Do they make an XM receiver to fit the Rs4?
I am just not diggin Sirius?
Dealer told me possibly, but it could take 3 months?
TIA

Was an option early on

Probubly political reason why XM was dropped. I suspect there is a wrecked one out there by now, and it could have the XM option. That is a sad thought. I was told of one person doing 25 to $30,000 damage twice on the same car.

I had mine switched

by the dealer when I bought the car.
I was told they went to Sirus-Only mid 2006 but the dealers parts dept. still has some or can get them from others.
The car electronics has set-ups for either.
It cost me around $300 for the switch.
Worth every penny! Sirius has always been poor in both programming and reception. (IMHO)

it can be swapped....

I have and XM box that will work with your car. (it works with RNS-E Nav)

Drop me an email if you want to trade...

XM... sirius sucks. My is always 'linking' never had that problem with XM.

IL RS4 02-09-2007 04:37 PM

Let me know if it works

I tried having mine switched but the dealer told me it was not possible to change.

I agree Sirius reception sucks

that's a regional problem, not a sirius problem.

i have yet to lose a sirius signal for more than a few seconds, and that rarely happens. i can even get a signal in most underground parking garages.

my father-in-law had problems with sirius similar to yours, and he's in SoCal....must be a Cali thing.

Bob W. 02-09-2007 05:10 PM

well...like it or not, Sirius is taking away market share from XM at an alarming rate.

if that continues at the present rate, XM could be kaput in a couple of years. obviously there has been talk of a merger, but I don't really see how sirius would benefit from that.

Dealer swapped mine to XM for less than $100 for the box and labor. I love it because.........

it doesn't drop off anymore and sounds better.
