Sirius' reception quality significantly inferior

My S4 had XM and it had perfect reception. Now my RS4 Sirius goes on and off in the "linking" mode throughout town in Northern California.

The Audi Dealership told me I am stuck with this, as they are no longer making XM radios for RS4s.

I certainly would have tried to get an XM if I had the choice, as the Sirius is an inferior product.

I have emailed Sirius 10-15 times, and it seems their "terrestrial repeaters" which enhance local signal quality just aren't very good and there is nothing they can do about the problem.

I had the dealer test my new Sirius radio and it works fine, so the problem is with the Sirius signal transmission.

Anyone out there want to trade a Sirius for an XM? This could be an RS4 or a 2006 or newer S4 owner?

I dont know seems quite a few people here don't like it. Don't get me wrong I think competition is

good for the consumer but I think Sirius has some quality issues.

I had it in a rental car in Florida and had the same problem.

Can even one survive?

Just looking at the financials it's hard to see how either one makes it. XM has about 50% higher revenue but both of them are losing nearly as much cash, per quarter, as they have revenue. Neither is anywhere close to profitable.

I don't know much about the industry but I don't see what the strategy is that makes either one of them sustainable businesses.

The both have enough cash to keep going for another year or two, though.

I think that would be a "serious" problem...
