honestly (as i am sure you know) that is very very strange esp for a tip...

If i find out you have a TAP in your TIP you will officially be heckled daily.

Its just 4 torx screws to open up the ECU case.
 

It should be clearly obvious if its chipped or not. Figuring out which chip (and what version) might be tougher. If you post a pic here, I'm sure someone would be able to identify it.
