jmorando05 07-24-2007 08:18 AM

any ideas what would cause that so i know where to start.. thought i knew how to read but i guess

not..

BlackS4tt (Josh) 07-24-2007 08:23 AM

umm.... a shifter install is pretty straight forward...

not sure what you could have installed wrong, unless the shifter is in backwards or something (not sure thats even possible). with that said, the problem may be with your shifter alignment. go to Toyguydesign.com and go to "shifter install". follow the alignment instructions there.

Enigmagic 07-24-2007 08:32 AM

they can be installed backwards ...

Audeye A6 07-24-2007 08:33 AM

Agreed check alignment. Do the rest of the gears engage smoothly and do you need to push down to get

into reverse?

jmorando05 07-24-2007 08:36 AM

no push needed to get into reverse which is basically telling me it just needs to be aligned more

to the right?? right?

BlackS4tt (Josh) 07-24-2007 08:43 AM

i think you have it in backwards...push down for 5-6 but no pushdown for reverse..

noSup4u 07-24-2007 09:17 AM

it definitely is. ive done it.

theres a groove and tongue for engaging reverse, it should be on the drivers side.
