B&M short shifter-- are you supposed to have to push down to get into and out of 5th and 6th??

Default umm.... a shifter install is pretty straight forward...

not sure what you could have installed wrong, unless the shifter is in backwards or something (not sure thats even possible). with that said, the problem may be with your shifter alignment. go to Toyguydesign.com and go to "shifter install". follow the alignment instructions there.

Default Agreed check alignment. Do the rest of the gears engage smoothly and do you need to push down to get

into reverse?

Default no push needed to get into reverse which is basically telling me it just needs to be aligned more

to the right?? right?

i think you have it in backwards...push down for 5-6 but no pushdown for reverse..

Default it definitely is. ive done it.

theres a groove and tongue for engaging reverse, it should be on the drivers side.
