My battery is completely dead (my fault) what do i tell the service dept?
i searched and saw that the battery is covered under factory warranty. But, i left my dome light on over the weekend and the dead battery is my fault. What should i tell the service reps? I definately think that i shouldn't admit any guilt...its 90F here anyway! Should i say that the car won't start and that i checked the battery and its dead. Should i tell them that i tried to charge it? I thought i would ask here before i call the man and give him something to use against me in warranty court.

They shouldn't give you any problems. I had a full custom stereo in the car and never
gave me a problem. My battery only lasted 2.5 years too.

I'd go buy a battery, put it in and call it a day...less headache that way......
Unfortunately, you've thrown the "Dome Light On Too Long" code (P00576) and there is simply no way to fool the dealer on this one - they'll know.
You'll show up to get your car and find the police there to arrest you. Just fix it yourself. |
I know you.
Did you try charging it?

I wouldn't tell them anything.
Don't give them a chance to blame it on you.

Try jumper cables that way you can try that and take it over. Do not shut off tho.
