editYes, you get about 15 more hp and 15more ft lbs at the wheel

It was about 10 more HP and 10 more ft lbs at the wheel.

Its Sarabi. But how can you make a statement like that and not back it up? Especially when revo

works?

Youreviltwin 06-27-2005 11:52 AM

Ahh... Makes sense but I remember when some people (not mentioning names)

but they were VERY close to GIAC and they swore that Revo could not have made that power. I dont know for sure, but David has been very cool and I have put over 11k with Revo and alls good so far.

Hey I'm just curious, but what do $11k dollars worth of mods consist of...

I'm assuming they are not all motor performance mods but also performance mods like suspension, etc?

Skydive@AI 06-27-2005 01:43 PM

Suspension and brakes first, would be my approach too...

...but that's all hindsight. My bone stock, 64,000 mile, 275 rwhp, 1995 P-993 is loads more fun than most of the 400+ horsepower cars I've built, and that's a fact. I seem to have grown out of streetlight racing, and into roads with radius.. but perhaps that'll change when my project B5 comes out of hibernation in the fall.

Anyway... suspension, and some nice brakes will add much more to your experience, (especially on a circuit), than will any power adders. Had I to do it again, I'd start there.

Skydive@AI 06-27-2005 01:46 PM

That all depends upon how one defines "works"...

I'd be interested in seeing what your timing and knock look like, and just how curvy your curves are. If they're anything like the turbo applications from E-Code, I'll be thoroughly unimpressed.

I've never actually met David, and he's probably a very nice guy. I have closely examined the results of some of his tuning effort, and I think it's fair to say that he and I sweat different things... If David's philosiphy matches your own, I'd say that you've found the appropriate tuner for your car. I simply make different choices, based on my own experiences and long-term knowledge.

As I said in response to your first post...

Furthermore, I'm not particularly close to GIAC. Short of Garret's transmission code, I've yet to run his engine management software in any of my own vehicles, though I'd sooner choose GIAC than I would Revo, based on what I have seen, heard, and felt.

Last time I checked is was $5. something...

What??????????? #s at the wheel seem WAY off

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/46648/racevsxchip.jpg"></center><p>At the GIAC dyno we saw 39HP &amp; 34TQ on a 1.8T, going from 91 to 100 Octane with 100 Oct. software.
Actually we should have seen higher but do to scheduling my car had to go on backwards (dyno'ed between 2 Porsches)so I got wheelspin at peak power instead of real peak power #.

Youreviltwin 07-06-2005 03:08 PM

My car isnt an A4, its an S4 and I went back and asked, it did make

a little over 10 more whp and 10ft lbs on 100.

Im using Revo not Giac.

on 91 Octane 292WHP and 298ft lbs. on 100 we made 305whp and 313 ft lbs. this was after the car was hot and only one run. We have to pull off the dyno.
