S4 Diagnostic help needed
Cars starts and drives fine for a short while then ESP, TPMS, Park Brake, ABS and sometimes engine light all come on together.
Symptoms is that the gearshift pattern becomes erratic. Shifts up to top gear when lifting off throttle no matter what the speed. eg at 30Km/h lift throttle shifts to 7th gear. Sometimes gearbox goes into neutral. The following fault codes were recorded. if there is anyone that has experienced this, or knows what these codes mean it would really help. I've seen in one instance an S4 with air ride installed caused the front passenger tire to rub through the fender liner and into the body harness. The harness ran along the frame rail and to around the where the bumper attached to the fender. Both the top and bumper fender area were heavily damaged. Any time the body flexed all lights came on.
It did not have shifting issues. I have seen bulletins for the valve body's and other issues though but that doesn't look like the problem. there were two problems ECU and Wiring the ECU has a faulty internal memory the wiring problem was a corroded can bridge under the dash near the fuse box on the drivers side (RHD) Solution was to replace ECU and clean the can bridge. All good now! |
