2012 Q5
I am planning for Audi Q5 for pickup somewhere in the last week of June or in the first week of July. I have not yet ordered it; I went to the dealership on 4/8/11 and I am told that because of model year changeover (2012 models coming in), I will have to wait. Anyone has any info on when the dealer will take the order? They are no longer taking orders for 2011 models.

Many car manufactures experience problems with parts after Japan earthquake.
For example, BMW can't sold some new cars ( 5 and X3) with out navigation. Some problems with chips that go in for car that don't have navi.
Your dealer is a best source - contact you SA.

First off great choice to go with the Q5! Are you looking to do European Delivery or purchuse the Q5 here? let me know what options and engine you are looking for and I am more then happy to help.

I think eyeshri was asking if there are production delay for Q5do to model year changeover? and when is a good time to order ED car for July delivery.
I sign up all papers on April 1 for mid July delivery.

ED 2012 Model
First of all thanks for all the information on here. Made me feel much more comfortable around ED, even though my dealer seems quite experience handling ED.
I just put in an order for a 2012 Q7. The back-up camera is not on the order sheet, and I've been told it's because they're out of chips from Japan for that. Does anyone know what Audi plans to do to compensate for that? Lower price, make the chip available at a later point for free/at substantial discount. I'm told the wiring for the camera plus the camera itself will be put in, so an after-purchase installment seems plausible.

ED is a wonderful experience, we picked up our 2011 Q7 in Ingolstadt last August and were very happy with the entire process.
