The camera is required by Audi pre-sense city, which is standard on all A4 models.

I just realized who you are looking at your Allroad build. I followed your CC build on Vwvortex several years ago. Your work is hands down among the best I’ve seen.
Can you tell us what is needed to get the rear fogs working on the B9?

Thank you! I appreciate that. (And miss the CC.)

For the rear fog(s), you'll need:
- new taillights, with rear fog lamps
- new light switch
- 2 wires from the inner taillights to the comfort control module, inside the left trunk
- possible parameterization using VCP, to indicate to the car the fog lights are installed

Thanks. Makes more sense to get the euro taillights with dynamic turn signal if there are no additional parts required to get them working.

If you decide to go with the Dynamic Euro Tails you still need to decide between the two versions (WITH Rear Fog and WITHOUT Rear Fog) as well as do all the additional wiring the Rear Fog Light still calls for id you opt into the option WITH Rear Fogs. Additionally, the Euro Dynamic Tails aren't simply "plug and play". They require VCP (Not VCDS or OBD11) in order to code them functional.

No, a separate sensor is used for rain and light sensing. It is round in shape and located below the camera.

Reviving an older thread but was curious, what happens for owners who have the rear fog light feature and need to replace their tail lights?

Will those owners lose out of the rear fog light function?

That’s not gonna be an issue. Spare parts will be available based on MY and car’s VIN for couple of years after production.
