Pirelli Scorpion Verde

I need to replace my 2012 Audi A6 PP tires and was looking on Tire Rack.

Link

It said that it is for Crossover/SUV. Will this not work well with my A6? The size is right and the price is awesome at $569+ for a set of 4 after MIR!

Anyone had any experience? I was under the impression that as long as the tire size is right, there should be no issues, but why does it say Crossover/SUV?

Found this on Tirerack. So i guess it will work fine with A6.

I have had tree different sets of Pirelli tire models over the years and my experience with all was very poor. Noisy, poor tread wear and difficult to balance after a few thousand miles. IMO, there are plenty of alternative A/S tires that would be a better choice for an A6 than these. And, for the most part, you get ehat you pay for.

Which one(s) would you recommend?

Second this. Stuck with Pirelli as OE but wouldn't chose them as a replacement.

Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 if you are looking for UHP A/S.

Most definitely an excellent choice for a high performance A/S tire.

Thanks! My car is 4 yr old and i don't intend to keep it for more than 2-3 yrs.

how important is the Load Factor and speed rating? recommended for Audi A6 is 100Y and XL, is it absolutely required to stick to those?

Unless all you're going to do is use it for local grocery shopping and under 5K miles a year, yes. You know what they say about penny-wise and pound foolish.

My usage will not be more than 6-7k/yr. I bought a 2012 A6 CPO in Nov 2013 with 8k miles on it. Since then i have driven 24k miles in 2.5 yrs and about 7k the last year.

There is a Sumitomo rated well 255/40-19 100Y XL with 300AAA for $580! Conti is $850.

if the difference was $100 -$150 I wouldn't bother weighing options.
