Charging Failure
Well, my brand new etron is already in the shop with a malfunctioning charging system. Something called the AC pump had failed. The thing is, I am in Maryland and there is ONE part in the entire North America. IF I can get that one, it will be 10 days in the shop accounting for the time to arrive. If it has to come to Germany we are looking at 4 weeks.
The lack of parts availability is to utterly disappointing. I had thought Audi didnt make the Tesla mistake but it looks like they have not.
Very, very disappointed.

Not sure where in MD you are but Rockville has 20 e-trons. They should just take the part from one of those to keep a satisfied customer...they're gonna need them.

I'm used to that having owned Astons and many Porsches. We're all beta testers for Audi, its going to take time to mainstream these and parts will improve as more units get sold. But I agree with GK1, your dealer should be able to borrow the part off a lot car or give you a nice loaner for the duration. Unfortunate.

I second the part scavenge by dealer. Push them to do it and as they can do so. Understandably it is more labor but it is brand new car as well.
I had the main relay go out on my BMW I3 4 years ago and rather than wait 6 weeks for the part to get here in the MW from the German Mother ship the Dealer swapped out the part for me.

Comparing a relay to an AC pump isn't logical. However, if you can find a dealer who's willing to disable and partially disassemble an in-stock car then the idea could work. If I was the dealer I think my first question would be why can't you just drive the loaner until the work is complete.

That's what I am doing. Driving a new A6, with basically the same tech inside as the etron. If it takes a couple weeks to sort out the etron, I am driving in nice style.

The real advantage of swapping the part with another EV is to find out is that is indeed the issue. IME the workshops are really inexperienced while trouble shooting EV's. They really don't break down a lot so they see them very infrequently and struggle to find what is wrong. On my I3 it to0k 4 trips before they found out what was wrong. I would drive away and the same error codes would pop back up on the drive home. Just for reference for the I3 they had to take out my engine to replace the relay. I would imagine a simple AC replace would be a lot easier.
