I can hardly see anything in the rear view camera when reversing at night. Does anyone else have this issue? I'm wondering if the reverse lights are really dim by design or something might be up with mine...
I tried to adjust the exposure of the photo below, to more accurately reflect reality (to compensate for the phone camera’s HDR enhancement). In reality, what I see when backing out is a bit worse than this:
I've noticed the same thing, but there are so many other flaws that I'm tracking that I've never brought it up with Audi or my dealer's service department. Has anyone reported it? Any response?
Same here, it is kind of dim. Part of it could be that the headlights are so nice and bright that it is difficult for your eyes to transition to a low light situation. Sometimes I hit the brakes if I need to to see more. I also installed a light with a motion detector in the rear of my garage so I can see when I back into the garage.
It's the standard Audi back-up camera, which hasn't changed much in the past 6 or 7 years, identical to the one on my wife's 2014 SQ5. A basic Ford truck rear camera will blow it away.
Mine is the same way. Can’t see the edges of the driveway (or any objects) in the backup camera, mirrors, or out the window. Backup lights are totally useless. I asked the dealer and they said the lights were working fine. My Q-5 was bad but this is worse. I wonder if there are aftermarket replacements for the lights.

It’s most likely not a camera problem, it’s that effin software again. It’s poorly calibrated and it takes forever to adjust (insufficiently) to the lighting conditions of the surrounding environment. When I back out of the garage, on a sunny day, it takes forever to adjust the exposure. For about 5 seconds, I see nothing once the hatch has moved from the shade to the sun.
All other Audis I’ve had have had no such exposure adjustment issues, despite much older hardware.
