Maybe - but here's the argument...
...around these parts, they gravel (not salt) the roads in winter. With OEM Fuchs or AVUS over 993TT calipers, the clearance is really tight. So, you pick up a set of cheap 17s and slap some winter rubber on, have good clearance for snow and gravel (gravel between the spokes and caliper = gouged-up caliper, FTL), and can save the OEM for sticky summer rubber that is a little cheaper in OEM sizes.
Maybe not the best way to go, but a decent rationale, IMO.

They look fine to me. Don't listen to those on Hateraid. :)
If they would have been mine to play with, I would have powder coated the spokes in Anthracite, and had the rim polished.
But that's me. I certainly am no maven of tastefulness when it comes to UrS cars - after all, I likes teh hated elmwood trim.

Sorry my friend.... but waste of time, money, pics... and wheels. Don't need fuchs for that look.
Why do people experiment on something which is perfect? None of chroms work on Audi for last 100 years. Nothing changed since that.

My opinion is that if you like it, great.
Don't take it personally if others DON'T like it, however. I once compared my color and trim choices with Kevin Day's. We are almost diametrically opposed. But we are still UrS-car owners, and that's all that matters, im my mind.
I happen to like the 17x8 AVUS wheels on my car, even though they are heavy and make the ride harsher. I also like S6+ wheels, while other folks think they are totally meh.
I also think Skollie's black wheels look like *** on his Cyclamen car. But it's HIS car.
Don't listen to the haters. Do your own thing.
