GT3071R to Stromung downpipe issues

I am currently moving from an rs2 set up to a gt3071r. My mechanic has run into a fitament issue with the turbo to downpipe alignment. Has anyone encountered this when upgrading their turbo when running a stromung turbo back exhaust? Thanks

What gen Stromung? I think the gen 6 is the first with the DP made to accomodate the garrett turbos. You probably have to get an adapter to mate an older DP to your turbo.

Jeff Posto (es-car-go) might be able to answer you question better.

For the record: The Stromung DP shown in the photo is a circa 2002 Gen2.
that downpipe was on the market years before the Garrett hybrid turbos were available. As a result, that DP was never devised to fit a Garrett turbo.

I responded to this owner separately (email) on a few options.

Had the same issue...

I just had the dump tube on the Stromung modified to fit.

I have the fitment issue when fitted the 2871 on WG accordian pipe.3 nuts is not sit on the right position.

Hey Pop.

I think you are intaslling the OEM exhaust correct?

because I don't remember shipping a Stromung to Thailand..

So...after deliberation and wise consultation I decided to go with the 034 downpipe mated to fit the gt3071. The new downpipe and high density motormounts should arrive tommorow. Upgraded fuel pump and oil catch can set up arrived today....time to get this show on the road.
