Default I'm sitting at Midas using their WiFi while they LOL at my car.

The d00d srsly lol'd at my jiggly serp belt pulley. I should probably fix that.

I'm here for the AC recharge. Hopefully I don't regret this.

Default Heh. They only wasted 35 minutes of my time before telling me they couldn't do it.

I was expecting to wait longer. My car baffled them. They thought the mid-level vents don't work because of the boost gauge.

They couldn't do it because they said there's only one port on the condenser. I thought there was a low port as well - that's what I said. They didn't even put it on the lift. Bastages.

Default There is no low port. But that shouldn't be an impediment.

Go to a decent independent AC shop. I had no problems doing that (I used ABC Radiator in Framingham). It was like 80 bucks to recharge and they did the evac for free a few weeks earlier. They used the high side port on the condenser.

With the right adaptors the low side pressure switch can (presumably) be unscrewed and that used as a low pressure port, but it's unnecessary with the right equipment (which is what you're paying for -- the right equipment, about 5 minutes of time, and some refrigerant.)

This is the system that was open for a while, right? If it was me I'd order a new dryer (I got mine from ECS -- make sure you get the AAN one and not the V6 one) and have some O-rings on hand in case it doesn't hold vacuum (I got a handfull of AC O-rings for free from a dealer. There are I think two different sizes.)

Nah... they're pretty nice there - even though they're somewhat incompetent.
