They couldn't do it because they said there's only one port on the condenser. I thought there was a low port as well - that's what I said. They didn't even put it on the lift. Bastages.
With the right adaptors the low side pressure switch can (presumably) be unscrewed and that used as a low pressure port, but it's unnecessary with the right equipment (which is what you're paying for -- the right equipment, about 5 minutes of time, and some refrigerant.)
This is the system that was open for a while, right? If it was me I'd order a new dryer (I got mine from ECS -- make sure you get the AAN one and not the V6 one) and have some O-rings on hand in case it doesn't hold vacuum (I got a handfull of AC O-rings for free from a dealer. There are I think two different sizes.)
