A question for those who have had failed window regulators.
The last 2 days I have been getting some (for lack of a better word) 'Crunchy' sounds whilst raising & lowering the driver's window. (Kind of like holding the end of a coat hanger wire against the moving surface while operating, mixed with some busted rice-boy bones.) Motor sounds normal.
While the window still seems to 'feel' smoothly operational, and runs at the normal non-binding speed - it sounds a fright.
Anyone have the same experience - or a thought as to it's source?
I am leaving on vacation on Friday for a week - so if I need parts - I would like to order b4 leaving.

One of the wires in the push-pull cable system has broken and frayed. No panic (yet). My Jetta...
Carat has this problem on the front passenger door but it has been like that for years (doesn't get used that often). I have a replacement regulator system (about $150 for the Jetta) but I am just too lazy to attend to a non-critical problem. (Car triage).
