Default 30/40r = very short power band unless you have a stroker or ported heads

I dunno if I would want to rev my engine that high all the time.

Default Wow.

That's some group of options.

My take goes like this:

I'm a fan of journal-bearing turbos. You probably already know that, so now we're past it. LOL.

My suggestion is to get some sort of hybrid that allows you to keep your hotside as you have it now, coldside such that you push a bit more air, but still within the realm of your current software.

If I were crass, I'd tell you to get a whole new set-up with a tubular EM, and sell me your RS2 EM for some reasonable price I could afford. LOL.

But that's not where I'm headed - I'd say go with something very similar to what you have, but rebuildable and reliable.

Like you care what *I* think, LOL.

Default so 300 wheel at 4000 then 438 all the way to redline is short? these engines are built to run high

revs codys motor is built as well, slap valve springs in and 7a cams in and you have a very reliable high reving car.

Default i dont want to come off as an ******* but im going to where are you getting this bull****?

do you have any expierience with a one off or hell know any one with a one off car that has been unreliable? Both myself and mark have run BB turbos now for a while with high boost and not had any problems so far. Im on my second garrett because i chose to go "one off" and guess what its been just as reliable if not more so because its done right.

Default ok so who posts more failures here - the fully built out or the more modestly moded?

I don't dobut that your car is a gas to drive or even that it's reliable.
But common - the higher the boost the more potential for various components to fail.
With any one off system there is going to be more trial and error getting it properly sorted - hence the back up idea.

Default failures, i see where your coming from it may just be because i expect them

but if you have a 95.5 or a 6speed box and abuilt motor such as cody theres not much to fail.

Catastrophic failures such as a few posted from out west have to do with poor tuning etc. Thats what will get you in the most trouble is half assing something thats doubling the efficient boost levels in these cars.

Default Correct - Making power at hi revs is much less stressful than at low revs.

As much more heat / force has to be produced by each power stroke at low engine speeds.

Default I still want a ride

My work has been insane for the last 3 months but I still want a ride. If I like it i'm going gt30/40r and VEMS. I know you love Tony at EPL (and i've talked to him and he knows his ****) but I like the idea of a stand-alone, build-it-yourself, no-support, wiki-driven, **********-with- your-oscilloscope and solder gun sort of engine management system.
