Turbo Swap Choices
My take goes like this:
I'm a fan of journal-bearing turbos. You probably already know that, so now we're past it. LOL.
My suggestion is to get some sort of hybrid that allows you to keep your hotside as you have it now, coldside such that you push a bit more air, but still within the realm of your current software.
If I were crass, I'd tell you to get a whole new set-up with a tubular EM, and sell me your RS2 EM for some reasonable price I could afford. LOL.
But that's not where I'm headed - I'd say go with something very similar to what you have, but rebuildable and reliable.
Like you care what *I* think, LOL.
But common - the higher the boost the more potential for various components to fail.
With any one off system there is going to be more trial and error getting it properly sorted - hence the back up idea.
Catastrophic failures such as a few posted from out west have to do with poor tuning etc. Thats what will get you in the most trouble is half assing something thats doubling the efficient boost levels in these cars.
