What kind of antifreeze are you guys using?........
mine is a little below the Min level and I want to top it off. When I had my timing belt service done this past summer they left the level a little low. My antifreeze is a greenish/brown in color. What should I use to top it off? TIA

you should probably flush it
they mixed the green with the blue it sounds like. It won't hurt it like mixing with the red, but it isn't a good practice. I use Prestone antifreeze. It's kind of a yellow/green color. Seems to work great, and it's cheaper than the audi stuff. As long as the antifreeze is phosphate free (it'll be harder to find an antifreeze with phosphates anymore) you'll be fine.

Yeah, time to flush...
I have to do mine this summer. It was all green (Autobahn brand) from my last flush in Milwaukee but I topped it off with blue when my aux. water pump cracked and leaked a whole mess of coolant out. My mix is SO off, gotta flush and fill when summer comes.

when I did it for the t-belt service it was a drain and refill job
then you run the car up to temp and allow any air pockets to burp out and you top off. I've never heard any different from any mechanics i've talked to.

Replace the plastic elbow at the back of the engine too.
Cheap, and more prone to failure than the hoses.
You may change your mind on the hoses when you see how much they cost. Also, it is very rare to hear about anyone having leak problems due to a bad hose.
