I'm planning the same thing, blau has a hose kit for urs4 for 250....

how is the price on that?

2nd -- OEM hoses will be expensive

As I noted a few days ago, the dealer wants over forty bucks for a 6" piece of hose (the one that goes from the block flange to the T-piece).

G12+ (G012 A8F M1)

Colour is more pink than red (like G12).
G12+ can be mixed with G12 or G11.

You have to remove the thermostat to flush the system completely.

open drain ****, open expansion tank...

let it drain.

Close drain ****(bottom right corner of radiator), refil expansion tank with distilled water or coolant flush fluid (meh, I didn't), close off expansion tank, and turn on engine. Seat heater to full blast. Run for 10 minutes.

Do this one more time, or twice, if you have no life.

After you flushed, refill with mix of coolant

Almost as important as the phosphate free coolant - use distilled H2O

My father - ex - law used to be a VW mechanic - 90% of the cooling system problems were related to minerals in the water reacting to aluminum! Granted - not as much in our cars compaired to the old bunnies - but very cheap insurance, just the same!
