Geez h Christ..... ! It better not be! I will be more than pissed! I just bought my 2017 Q5 3.0 slime at the end of August. If true I will personally drive it up Audi's A.. if this is the case. Dumped the TDI WHICH WE LOVED because of of its pollution scandal.
I have noticed however, at 2000 Kim's that the tail pipes on this one are blacker than any car I have ever known! Thought I must be seeing things. What now? |
Picked up end of august, don't know actual date of MFG in Germany. Waited a couple of months so who knows!
Still goes like stink....black pipes and all Cheers |

"The cheat was only implemented on cars with an automatic transmission with an internal designation AL 551. This appears to be a particular variant of the eight-speed unit Audi sources from transmission supplier ZF, set up for Quattro models. It apparently covers several hundred thousand vehicles under the cheat, according to Bild am Sonntag’s reporting. Diesel engines and gasoline engines are both affected here, and models involved include the Audi A8, the Audi Q5 as Forbes notes, as well as the Audi Q7 if my Wikipedia digging is correct." |

Well, mine is 9/16. Way, way past the time of all previously known scandals. If it has this issue it was done intentionally and with malice.

It doesn't specifically say if it's all Q5's, but sure sounds like it. From the Jalopnik article:
"The cheat was only implemented on cars with an automatic transmission with an internal designation AL 551. I have a feeling that once this thing is busted wide open, it will probably covers more cars than just the mentioned A8 and Q5. Who knows, maybe A4 and A6 are also impacted? |
