54 hours door to door. No clearbra, no snow tires, no brains :-p

Yes, that's road salt deposited on the RS6. Pic taken somewhere in the mid west on Saturday.

32 hours straight driving from the dealership in NJ, then a 10 hour nap in WY, then 12 hours driving to Kirkland, WA, home at last!

I washed the car today, Monday, and there are some rock chips, small ones mostly on the bumper, but they're there. Some missing paint behind the front wheels on the lower arch sandblasted off from sand/gravel off of my tires. I'll get that resprayed/blended soon. Such is life, I'll get the front end resprayed in a few years if it starts to bother me. At least I won't be so worried about driving her on the highway given I've already devirginized her. It was really the best thing, I am convinced of that.

Tons of snow driving at high speed didn't help the cause. After a few hours in the snow straight out of NJ and into Penn, I stopped for gas and saw I had Michelin Pilot Sports... DOH!!! I should have checked sooner, but it didn't really seem to bother me or the car. What was I going to do, stop and buy new tires?... I think not. I just drove like I was on egshells any time the road was white, just as I do with snow tires on. ESP light flashed a few times, but mostly only when I was on surface streets getting gas or pitstop.

The RS6 is an amazing car. I have no complaints whatsoever. None, nada, zip, zilch! It is an awesome road car, powerful, luxurious, fast, quick, and ohhh the sweet sound of that 'sound exhaust'!!! It is so intoxicating, I revel every time I start the car or accelerate briskly.

I really thought I'd find some flaws, rattles, idiocyncracies that were'nt quite right, but after 2924 miles ranging from 0 to 130 mph with MANY miles of 100+ cruising, driving her in D, S, and Paddle mode, it performed flawlessly and intuitively. Basically, I couldn't be happier!

I heart my RS6! Now the question, to daily drive and high mile her or save for weekend or sunny days and baby her??? I'm leaning towards the latter, but am still considering the former.

Congrats! That was the mother of all road trips. Just got mine too, and love it. I also thought I'd find stuff I didn't like...but it's just an amazing car.

My name is Brad and I'm a torque addict :).
