Wet Carpet Mystery solved (hopefully)
The problem was a little more difficult to pinpoint because I could never find the source of the leak via some sort of trail of wetness. The foam backing on the lower carpet insert would become fully saturated.
I found the Orange rubber drain valve to have a small tear in it, and so the Air Conditioning condensate would leak thru this small tear.
The first photo, showing the location of the old drain (I disconnected the upper part of the rubber drain from the hard black plastic tube in this photo) has an arrow pointing to where the tear was located. It was hard to see, in fact only revealed itself after a good outward tug.
The part does not display an image when looking for it on ETKA.
Part is 4D0-260-113-B Valve and cost a whopping $45USD (ouch).
Hope this helps.

Besides, I already made the trek to the parts counter, since the only real way to find out what I needed might reside within their knowledge base, as ETKA didn't picture the item I needed. No way of knowing the cost beforehand.
I've lost count how many times I have removed that Tranny tunnel carpet and while it got a little easier, it's still a PITA. The cost easily covered the value of not having to take that damn thing off again.
