Ok well i fixed it. But it wasn't the sensor. I pulled my cluster out and on the back of the fuse there a
is a screw post and a nut on it. I loosened the nut and tweaked the post a little and it's been working great ever since.

QuattroNW, did you happen to take pictures of what you saw and did? I'm experiencing the same thing and have already replaced the oil level sender (combo with temp) with no luck in fixing my oil temp reading. I have a 1.8T ATW.
