Default Launch Edition Delivery

Excited to join the forum, been cruising without participating for some time, and now it's my turn to help!

I am taking delivery of a new "Launch Edition" TTS tonight - so if you have any questions you want answered - let me know. I know that buying a new model without info left me with a lot of unknowns and speculations - so let try and prevent that!

Welcome SD and congrats on your purchase! So this will be in black then?

Did you compare it to a regular TT? I'd be interested in hearing how the 2 compare drive wise.

Black with Red Leather (was worried about the red, but looks good).

Coming from an S5 the TT felt very pedestrian. Great car nonetheless, but I had gotten used to the additional power and was hard to go backwards. The engine in the TTS has more of the fun, although it does lack a little of the immediacy off the line than the S5 (Supercharger vs. Turbocharger I guess), but once its going the TTS feels 100% more alive and controlled. Makes the S5 feel like a highway cruiser.

I was worried the suspension would be a little stiff on the TTS, even with the adjustable shocks, compared to the TT, as that has a relatively stiff ride to start. While I will say even in "Comfort" the TTS it is a little stiffer, it just feels so much more planted to the road.

For me the right decision was the TTS, but I wouldn't fault anyone for getting a TT. It's still a fun quick care in its own right. A little less edgy.

All this being said without pushing the limits yet - gotta break her in!

Thanks, sounds great! If I would've had a choice to get the TTS Roadster I likely would've got that... but alas we only have the option of ordering the TT Roadster in the U.S.

I see you're in San Diego, the boat my car is on just left Europe on the way there (with some stops inbetween)!

On behalf of those of us who are eagerly awaiting any morsel of information about the TTS, thank you, thank you, thank you. Seriously, good info.

And on behalf of us who also ordered the red interior, please post some pics ASAP!

Congrats man!
I just traded in my S5 for a TTS launch edition too!
I went to the dealership (Escondido) just to test drive it but man, I fell in love.
Was gonna wait for a Sepang but black on red looks badass.
And yes, I live in SD too!! hah!

Well done Dave and Geoffrey. A bird in the hand .... Actually, I am waiting for Sepang. It's been close to a four month wait already [at least upcoming week 41].

Mine showed up at the same dealership on Tuesday! They had tried to sell me the one you bought while I waited for my order...
