Clunk at start up

Clunk at start up
I posted this last year but thought I'd ask again.
Never happens with cold engine.
When engine warm (say in a store for 10 minutes-1 hour) when I go to start my car it starts normal but as soon as the engine fires up more often then not I get this unrefined clunk or kick back clunk. It seems like the transmission. This is with car in park being started as normal. Air conditioner off or on makes no difference. Car starts and runs beautifully otherwise but with that clunk only at start up with a warmed car. Been in twice but dealer can't repeat of course.
It's very annoying been doing it since new. Anyone else ever experience this?

Mine does it too occasionally as others have reported. I suspect it's something in the drivetrain or converter taking up a bit of slack. I'll have the dealer check it out next service but I suspect they'll say it's normal.

I find it unrefined despite the fact the car has been perfectly reliable.

Mine started doing it few months after the update. It'll be interesting to see folks without the update are experiencing the same clunk issue. If I can find a TCM without the update, I'll swap it.

Whereabouts is the sound coming from... i get a thunk once in a while as well and when i mentioned to the dealer i got nothing wrong b.s.
I kind of think it comes form near the driver side front or in that area... it would make sense if its the transmission... i will pay more attention as well to see if i am in gear or not when this happens.

Definitely not coming from the wiper mechanisms, more like the tranny or somewhere in the drive draft areas. Interesting that today it was the warmest day of the year and not one clunk as I ran errands around town.
The problem with these intermittent issues is if a tech can't duplicate it, it generates a "no problem found". Best to get it recorded under warranty anyway just in case a resulting, serious problem rears its ugly head later. Could provide some leverage for a fix out of warranty down the road.

I doubt it's related to the TCM update. All that did was change the software gear maps a bit. Also, you would think it would have been apparent immediately and not months and thousands of miles later.
