Default Are Matrix-design LED headlights active in 2023?

Do the Matrix-design and HD Matrix-design headlights function as designed in the 2023 models? If not, does anyone know if Audi will turn them on in the future?

No, they will not turn them on due to the fact that the American standards for the lights are different from the SAE and EU standards. Audi would have to test and certify the lights in order to officially active the feature. There was concern from the manufacturers that in order to meet the US standards they would have to make hardware changes from the EU design of the headlights which would add to the cost. We won't see the Matrix feature activated until the B10 generation at the earliest.

Does OBDEleven have the ability to activate this feather? Or has the HD Matrix-design hardware been removed from the current years?

On the B9.5 cars, the hardware is there. The B9 cars require new EU headlights. The feature can be activated but it's pretty involved as it requires loading new firmware into the headlights. Some posters have contacted "Sam" (based in the Toronto area in Canada) to activate it on their B9.5 cars. A forum search for "blue light / LED Sam" should bring up his contact info.

Thanks, John.

Looking at replacing my wife's A6 and the only interest in Prestige vs. PP is the HD Matrix-design headlights. If they don't "work" there's no reason to go that way.

The matrix lights will put on a fun show when you are parked and start the car. That's not worth the money to you?

Thank you. I'll do some more research and see if it's worth tinkering with.

To all I have been in contact with Sam for over 6 months. Even had them do a test install of different options and everything checked out. The problem is he does NOT have all the firmware for recent vehicles (last 2 years) . I would recommend that before you purchase the module off Amazon or eBay you verify that he can actually install it on your vehicle. Good luck

Thanks for the heads up. It's not a big deal, but I guess we shall stay tuned in case new developments arise.
