Default Which Audi Connect for NAV Maps?

As the title suggests, which Audi Connect do I need to purchase (for one month) to get an update for my navigation maps? The choices I see in the app and website are Audi connect PLUS for $49 and Audi connect PRIME for $36. When I pursue the purchase of each of these, neither specifically mentions map updates.

My 2023 S5 Cab has maps from 2021. I have given up trying to convince the dealer that I should already be getting them.

I assume either will do it, but that's just an assumption. I say that mostly because the description for Audi Connect NAV, which I have in both my 24s, does not mention maps either. And NAV is only about $15 so I'd think both the more expensive versions would have maps. But if you are only doing it once, I suppose the $13 difference between the two might not be worth the chance. Mine just downloaded January maps yesterday, so you should get the most recent maps if you do it now. I'm curious if this works for you, so report back.

From what I can find out (doing circles throughout various Audi websites) Audi Connect NAV does not seem to be available for a 2023 S5 Prestige. My choices seem to be limited to Audi connect PLUS for $49 and Audi connect PRIME for $36. I'll probably just get PLUS until I get one update and then cancel it.

You are probably correct about the availability of NAV in older cars, but much like the whole issue of whether you need Connect at all for maps, I find the issue about what versions of NAV are available by year to be confusing. When I got my 2024 A5, the Connect NAV website banner said "Available on Select 2024 Models." When I got my 2024 Q5 10 months later, the same website said "Available on Select 2025 Models." It took some digging to find that it was available on the Q5. Audi makes nearly everything unnecessarily confusing. Honestly, one of the reasons I bought a self-renewing subscription to NAV for both cars was not just the small monthly savings, but I wanted to save myself the headache of having to figure it all out again.

On our 2021 Q5, I get the cheapest one and usually get the maps with a couple of days. Although I think I've only done this twice since we bought the car.

I asked the technical support guy at my dealer and he tells me Audi Connect Prime will provide OTA navigation map updates.

I have 2019 S5 cab, recently bought used. When I contacted Audi Connect by e mail, I was given a free connection for 6(?) months. I was able to update my maps, but as mentioned there are very limited updates. Iirc, At&t has a plan for $10/ month extra if you have their cell plan. That would be about the same as I pay under my current plan, without audi connect. Verify an update exists, and then contact Audi Connect. Calling was not effective, long wait time then disconnected the 3 times I tried. Email worked well.

I can confirm this to be true. It also allows for point to point navigation guidance and online radio. Connect Plus adds high-speed internet connection for multiple devices such as cell phones.
