Default Disappointed owner... Official Audi Complaint Thread

Has anyone complained officially to Audi and gotten any results?

My experience with my "all new" 2025.5 Q5 has been very disappointing.

Starting with the fact it has does not have auto start. This is unbelievable. It is freezing weather and I have to get into an ice cold car. This is enough to make me sometimes think about getting rid of the car. Has anyone gone to Audi with this complaint?

It has less than 5k mi and it has squeaking front brakes, a rattle in the dashboard, and random odd warnings that disrupt driving and are not accurate with display issues. I do not have the K2 update yet but I just got the car in August and was going to wait for the next update.

You really should not wait for a future update and go ahead and get KD2 NOW. Nobody will be surprised that a non KD2 car is seen as awful. KD2 makes things much much better. I also had a rattle in the dash caused by the HUD unit. The dealer fixed that easily.

Was the dealer able to reproduce the rattle? I have been through this with other cars, if they don't hear it they won't fix it

Yes, please expound on the rattle situation. I had the dealer look at this when we took ours in for the KD2 update. They could never repro. It doesn't happen all of the time, but it happens every time on certain roads. We have since taken a video of the issue in hopes it helps when we next bring it in, but if you have details about the fix, that would be very helpful. As a note, when ours was in, we had a new Q5 loaner, which did not rattle. So I know this isn't something with every Q5.

Are you guys talking about my HUD rattle? I don't know if they reproduced it or not but they pulled out the hud unit and put felt tape on all the plastic contact points and that fixed it. On the way home I took it over the washboard road on the back way home and the rattle was gone!

I agree on the remote start. This is my first Audi. Big miss by Audi and by me by not noticing it when I took delivery- I feel cheated. I just assumed a $60K car would have it like a $25K Hyundai does. Audi needs to step up, do right and add this to the "all new" Q5.

I knew about it and I asked and I was told by the dealer that it would likely come later with a software update. Sigh.

My 2025 Q5 New Model has a problem with battery rundown. It has been in the service 3 times for this. When the battery goes to 2.4v I cannot unlock. The first time I had to pop off the small plastic piece and use the key (from the remote). The dealer sent out a tow service and they jump started it. After they left I wanted to drive it a bit to charge up the battery. It has all kinds of failure lights flashing and the steering wheel was shaking. I called the dealer and they told me to come in if I could. I drove straight there, steering wheel shaking and dash lit up with systems failing. Since that time it had the same problem with no start, battery low after not driving it a week. This last time they did a software update and replaced the battery. All with direction from Audi America Technical. I picked it up yesterday. If it happens again the Lemon Law will go into effect. I have the letter already written just waiting.

The dealer had the car for 2 weeks. He eventually found a way to get Audi to pay for a KD2 upgrade, but KD2 didn't fix anything we were having a problem with. And as of a few days ago we can add the drive system warning to our list of complaints.

I doubt KD3 will be the solution to any of the problems we are having with the Q5. Audi already made the real solution obvious: Buy a newer Q5 that has the redesigned MMI and UI components. I'd trade this one tomorrow - for another brand - if I didn't have to eat the depreciation. I might do that anyway.

As long as this is a complaint thread, here are a few of mine:

-The HUD turns off for no apparent reason. The only convenient way to turn it back on is to ask Hey Audi to do it.
-In any drive mode, the car starts up from a stop with a jolt unless I do a very slow roll-out before I give it some gas.
-T
he voice command function responds to all sorts of conversation besides "Hey Audi".
-Opening the rear lift-gate by passing my foot through the light beam under the bumper rarely works. Closing it by that method never works, even if I stand back well clear of the door.
-In very cold temperatures we get a limp mode "Drivetrain/Drive System Malfunction" message, but the car seems to operate normally.
-No remote start.
-The nav does not have a turn list.

-The ride height cannot be set to the lowest position for easier ingress/egress unless the ride is set to Dynamic. Shorter people like my wife would appreciate being able to keep the car lowered.
-When I'm using Android Auto for navigation, sometimes the passenger will be able to see the map on their MMI display. Sometimes not. Maybe there is a way to make it appear all the time, but like so many other settings, it is buried so deep that I'd have to pull over and spend a considerable amount of time hunting for it.
-The steering is so sensitive that it is hard to make the minor corrections necessary to stay in the center of the lane without annoying passengers with jerky motions. And do not take your eyes off the road to try to find a setting that is hidden somewhere in the MMI. You could end up swerving into the next lane.
-The fan speed and other frequently used HVAC settings can't be accessed without pressing the Menu button and then pressing it again to return to the full MMI display.
-The Sirius/XM Favorites tab or station list with numbers are nearly impossible to find.
