Default 2025 B10 S5 Owners — how fixed is it?

Wondering about the progress on all the issues surrounding the 2025 B10 S5 (and related platform vehicles). Have they fixed the most significant problems? Which ones remain? What functionality is still not available?

Now that the 2026 model has been announced, what things, other than the new steering wheel, do you think you will never get in your current S5?

Just trying to figure out whether it is safe to buy an S5 or an A6 this year, just wait 6 months, or move on to a competitor. I’ve owned over a dozen Audi’s in my almost 80 years and never seen a situation like this.

I am using b10 from August. In reality of I was a conservative user I would not have any problems. As car always drives and no problem. All the in problems are with assistants, various errors which some of them just disappear after the night l. I really like the feeling how it drives and I am just trying to get used to the new car that it will always have those errors. As someone told they will be as the car is afraid of something wrong it better to send error...

I am moving away from Audi. I will give them another 5-6 years to see what changes. Why that answer, 2 electrical failures in 8 months and non response on my buyback request. I just don’t trust the 25 model. If you buy, go with the 26. I am moving to a BMW 840i. It is the closest to the Audi A7 and will be a nice change. I miss my 2018 A5. I made a bad decision to buy the all new 2025 A5, I wish I would have waited.

After months of being plagued with issues, I'm currently in litigation with AoA to buyback my 25 Q6 etron. They dragged their feet on doing a direct buyback, so I pulled my lawyer into the fold. The car has been out of service now for almost 90 days in 10 months. My sales guy is really pushing me to get either a SQ5 or S5 as a replacement, and swears the PPC cars aren't seeing the same level of problems as the PPE cars (I'm over having an EV as my DD, going back to ICE). The 26 PPC cars have a new UI and software package. I'm really nervous to give Audi one more chance but I do like the B10 S5s.

I've been posting my journey with my '25 B10 S5 and been happy with the S5 since Dec-2025. After the KD2 update in March, I only get a few errors the pop up like sign detection that I could care less about. I've not seen the emission CEL that was popping up on my S5 since late April IIRC. I think it was related to the valved exhaust actuation. Actually, all the tech is pretty irrelevant to me. I'm a driver, I get in the S5 to drive it, not it drive me, it's my A to B car. It has a really big boot, a liftback, nice seats that heat/cool/massage, a DCT, and IC engine only, it's fast enough, and doesn't look butt ugly to me like BMW's (was considering M3 x-drive since car had to be AWD, and the S5 is a more practical car) currently do. Do still wish manuals were still a thing, but I have my Elise and B5 S4 Avant if I want to row and suffice other driving needs. I'll drive the S5 like a grandma or like a bank robber depending on what seems reasonable, these cars are brilliant in the pouring rain, the instantaneous Torsen center diff is the magic. My B5 was the weapon of choice for wet track days, but using the Elise in the wet hones much more of your driving skill.

In the end, this is a big purchase, so don't settle, buy what you want and be happy. Nothing is perfect and there will be something better, and that is OK. These forums just help me think more, in the end I do my own research and commit to my own decisions. Then carefully make mods as part of the journey, so I can see what they all do and have more fun with it. There aren't many options out there that do what the S5 does, esp having no hybrid system these days, most others are a compromise to what I was looking for. If I want to drive a hybrid, I have my wife's Civic Sport Hybrid, which is averaging 50.3 mpg, and fun to drive in its own way.

Just my take, I hope you make the right decision for yourself.

Oh, for loaners I've gotten a new A3 and A5, and for my next visit for one of my free oil changes for my 10k, I asked for an A3, it's just a funner car being lighter and the mild hybrid makes the low speed accel pretty decent and still get like +30 mpg🤭.

I have a '25 SQ5 and I've had most of the issues with crazy error messages that everyone else had, and they were 'mostly' addressed with KD2. I have one lingering issue with the ADAS systems and an error message that pops up every so often and disables cruise control, and they told me I needed to wait for KD2*. I'm really hoping that fixes the errors, but I wouldn't recommend buying another Audi at this point if you have a choice. I have also been reading on Reddit forums that the '26 models are not free of issues, even though they supposedly received a "software refresh". Which, btw, we should have received as well, and instead they claim that the new interface is "hardware dependent", which is a load of BS. Audi's support has been dismal and that's the primary reason to not reward them with another sale.
