Since I just dropped off my MaD wAgOn at the dealership finally for the airbag recall, it got me thinking who else might be on the original turbos/cats on this unreliable POS of a car😜. I did put on the RS 4 oil cooler early on since oil temps were way too high for tracking here in TX. I put over 90 track sessions on her and was typically the only wagon in the highest run groups back in the day (2003-2005). It was great learning and it definitely made me faster in the the Cartoon Car (Lotus Elise) when I started to Instructing as much as I could.
She has been a bit of a garage queen the last 5-6 yrs since there were a number of things to fix and I just didn't have the time (kids), but she is back in order again. I didn't even chip (GIAC x-chip) her till 2014. I recently put in a ColorMFA display (https://colormfa.ru/) and it is nice to have a center display that works again.
Oh well, I hope you all keep going strong with your B5's, they are classics and a kind of car you can't get anymore or maybe ever again. Wish she was Nogaro (cursel) like the sedan I had, but Silver is faster right?🤭

Baby coming back home😁. My kids love riding in this back breaking car. The Stasis Motorsport double adjustable Konis are still going strong with 800/900 lb Hypercoil springs. I could slam her a bit more, but the roads in DFW, esp Plano are freaking terrible. To me these B5's looks have aged well, they have that classic understatement.😎 Actually, love how these B5's look from this angle. If Audi would have brought the B5 RS 4 Avant to the US back then...
A couple of my OZ SLs had slight hiccups in them, so had them straightened. Unfortunately, the wheel shop for some reason scratched every spoke the same way. These are +20 yrs wheels, so they got some wear and tear on them. After sending pix and discussing, the wheel shop which only does powder coating gave me a decent deal to refinish all the wheels. So I went to the darkside😎. I went with the CF center caps since the multiple sets of center caps all had clips that broke off from being so old.
Inside edge straightened, but spokes all scratched🤨. Back to the wheel shop. Nice and shiny again and the break dust won't matter as much. Will take some getting used to. Shots after she's all clean.
Where are all the B5 folks? I seldom see a B5 anything anymore in DFW area, much less a S4.
I actually did the airbag recall finally April-2026 and a bit of maintenance to get my MaD wAgOn going again. I just like being able to drive a manual and act like a fool in a wagon, what a unique feeling🤣.
When I was at the dealership location I actually bought the car from in Nov-2001 for the free car wash, they had to ask the nice looking loaner car lady to drive the car since no one in the service bay could😝😂.
