There' a lot to like about the facelifted 2027 Q4 interior but that Virtual Cockpit!
I like nearly all the changes they have made to the interior (dual wireless chargers, matte finish on the center console in place of piano black, more ambient lighting, optional 12" passenger screen, better materials, etc.) and I am not even going to nitpick about the climate controls having moved to the infotainment screen (I'm not a huge fan of my dedicated climate controls on my 2024 Q4, but did love the gorgeous climate control panel on my 2021 B9.5 S4), but that wide and narrow Virtual Cockpit driver's display which looks identical to the 2026 Q3 display just looks terrible.
The top black bezel alone is as thick as the active part of the screen. I understand about not wanting the steering wheel to partially block the screen but there has to be a better solution than something which looks like obvious cost cutting. I have sat inside the 2026 Q3 and it doesn't look any better in person. I was considering the 2027 Q4 when my 2024 lease ends next February but I don't know if I can get over this feature. You literally have to look at that fiasco every second you are driving.

FWIW as a 2026 Q3 owner I hardly notice it, and that pic/angle is a poor view point/angle of it. In the driver position the steering wheel completely blocks the black bezel and anything displayed there would be pretty useless, and the bottom blends in as surround with all the other info being displayed in it as well, also playing off the new steering wheel stalk/shifter the Q3 has (which the Q4 doesnt). Its only stands out a bit when you have it map/NAV mode (and looking at it from a non driver position), which honestly, while looking cool is pretty pointless with the map already being displayed in the MMI and the turn by turn in the HUD, as well as being able to optionally displayed in the left side **** pit window. The virtual cockpit looks and set up was actually one of the main reasons I choose the Q3 over the X1 and a few other cars when I was shopping for a new car. Get constant compliments about its look when others get in. Its also is the same in the new Q7 that's been announced, and a I believe a change in all models across the board.
