Airbag Light
Hey, y'all. Been awhile!
Have the '03 RS6 in for some maintenance. Airbag light came on putting it on the trailer. Indy says airbag module is bad. Has to be re-built, because NLA. Okay. That's $350. But, the labor to get to it is $900? Sound right to you guys? That sounds high. Google is telling me it's a 1-2hr job.

1 to 2 hrs seems about right to pull the center console. I've had mine off before when I swapped all of the Carbon Fiber to the RS6 Plus Blue Weave Carbon. Can the module be scanned with Vagcom? If so it may just be corrupted. I did have a business called safetyrestore.com in Mass. reset my S5 Airbag module. I think the RS6 part is 4B0959655P, Maybe find a used one here but definitely available from Europe.

So, a quote of $1,250+ to remove and install the module (incl the cost of rebuild) is correct-ish? If 1-2 hours to dis-semble, then 1-2 hours to re-assemble. So, 2-4 hours labor. Sheesh. Thankfully it's not at dealer rates!

Seems high to me. It really isn't too difficult if you take your time. Just remember to disconnect the battery first since you're working with the Airbag module, you want it powered completely down.
