How to Change Audi Key Battery

Hey all, made a video on changing the battery in the key. Good referral when doing this, these batteries seemingly die quickly:

My battery lasts 18-24 months. I don't keep my FOB in range of the car when I am at home and I generally don't use the buttons, it is in my pocket or in a faraday bag.

Same here — almost always 24 months.

Hey John:

I always look at the information you published about 5 to 6 years ago about changing the key fob battery; it offers more detail than what Audi wrote in the manual. Makes it a breeze to swap the battery!

I just checked the back of fob 1 (only fob I use) and the battery was changed 1/1/2024 and my battery checker (not a voltmeter, it applies a calibrated load to the battery under test) said the battery is about 60% full.

I rarely use any buttons to control the car / trunk and the fob is stored about 50 feet from the attached garage so I’m happy with my battery life.
