2013 Q7 3.0t Post Carbon Clean DTC Codes
I finally steeled the courage to carbon clean my 2013 Q7 3.0t (135k miles), including PCV, water pump, thermostat, spark plugs, and fuel injector change. Now I have the following codes after the supercharger reinstallation.
- "P190C:00/06412:000Coolant pump for charge pressure cooler No signal"
- "P0303:00/00771:000Cyl.3 Misfire Detected"
- "U1017:00/53271:000ABS brake control module Read out DTC"
I've triple-checked each marked electrical connector and pre-marked each vacuum hose for easier identification and reinstallation, but there is nothing out of place. My thought now is to remove the supercharger to double-check my work and re-bleed the coolant.
Any insight would help. Thanks
Normally, when you seeing an fault code on circuit and you 'know-know' you put the correct connect halves back together, it's because you didn't snap the locking piece back in place; that's very common issue after pulling apart connectors on this car...gotta get that locking tab to engage again, or it'll throw codes.
You did quite a lot at once, which is great, but also introduces multiple points where it requires you to use the VAGCOM scan tool to recode for new parts in relation to changing out specific items, like the fuel injector; not plug-n-play...you have to go code the ECU for the specific ID code found on the injector, etc., otherwise it keeps fueling based off the original, faulty injector settings it has stored, etc.
Be sure you are following, and have the factory repair manual for your engine variant, as it is very, very easy to miss one detail that screws the whole thing up too. I bought mine online (downloadable immediately) for the entire 4L Q7 lineup of engines, and it's dated as revised 2015. You can also go to service sites like ALLDATA, etc. and just pay an access fee to download what you want/need for your car, but you aren't really 'safe' doing R&R on these engines w/o using the repair manual steps as your guide.
Seems like there's always a 'twist' or some special step required I wouldn't otherwise know about when I'm DIYing my Q7.
There is a bit of a learning curve up-front on these Q7s, so be sure to check out all the known issues related to both chassis and engines.

There is no fuel injector IMA/ISA adaptation on FSI/TFSI engines, only TDI.
You’d likely be unable to even do this procedure on an FSI/TFSI engine ECU because those channels are not accessible. The channel would read ERROR when trying to access it. Or, depending on the year, it wouldn’t even be a choice from the drop-down menu.
I’ve just confirmed this with the 4.2L FSI, 4.0L TFSI, and even my non-FSI 2.7T in my cars. However, I don’t have a 3.0TFSI, so for posterity’s sake, try to access addresses 071-076 and let us know for certain.
As for the codes you have, start with the P0303, because your engine is in a severe protection mode with the P130A. That P130A may be shutting other injectors down too.
If you haven’t already, check the injector plug on cylinder three, make sure it’s fully seated and latched. Same with the ignition coil and plug. If they’re good, swap that coil with a nearby one and see if the misfire moves too. If not, check the spark plug. If it looks good, swap the plug with a nearby cylinder too. Now, there’s also a possibility that you have an injector issue even though they’re new.
