2027 Q7 has 2.9T making 429hp, SQ7 has 4.0T making 591hp
Just makes me even more upset about the mediocre power "gains" gen over gen for B10. The S5 can't even get a full 15hp to make up for the 300lbs of weight while the Q7 moves up a full power class for each level (Q7 matching B9 RS5 and C8 S6, SQ7 matching RSQ8). I understand the reasoning mostly, being largely related to the intended markets and the emissions regulations of the US vs the EU, but still annoying to see after rumors of the S5 getting the 2.9T turning out to be nothing.

It's otherwise going to be DOA against the 443hp C53 and 420hp M350.
But I can also see the 3.0T being phased out in all US Audis and replace with the 2.9tt. Cayenne is due for a 2nd refresh soon and that might lose the 3.0 who knows.
The EU7 compliance doesn't matter if 2.9TT without hybridization is a US-only affair.
You mind linking a source for the petrol 3.0T? I only see the TDI on the press release.

It's crazy to think they can push the 2.9 to 500 bhp but can't even get 400 bhp out of the 3.0. But the 3.0 is the b-cycle efficiency focus engine of the V6 pair, same as the b-cycle version of the 2.0 vs the normal 2.0.
I'm a bit surprised the Q7 entry model will be 400+ bhp. That's going to move the entry price for the Q7 way up. I bet they add a 2.0, or 2.0 hybrid, at some point.
With the Q7 remaining a two row or three row vehicle, wonder if the two row only smaller Q8 will update to PPC or not.
The Cayenne-E is "now" out. Wondering when the matching new "Q7 e-tron" or whatever is going to show up. Maybe they figure the e-tron will offset the emissions of only having high power ICE models?
