Default Q7 towing noise

Any time i tow with the Q7, whether a tiny utility trailer or tandem axel camper, there is so much noise in the cabin.

Then I'll pulll the same trailer on same roads and similar load tyes and weights with my wife's SUV , and it is 95% more quiet. You'll still hear a bit of noise in her car on bumpy sections, but NOT NEARLY as much as in the Q.

Anybody else experience massive noise transfer from the ball and back into the nody of their Q????

I grew up on a farm (driving semis.and heavy equipment) along with having boats, campers, snowmobile trailers; basically have hauled and towed a great many things for over 30 years, and NEVER experienced this much cabin noise transferring from the hitch!!!

is this common, or am I all alone?

The Q does a pretty decent job towimg, but it is loud as hell.and on long trips with the camper it is maddening

I think Audi put out a TSB on this issue. The solution was to turn the volume **** on the stereo clockwise three times.

You have too much play between the hitch and receiver. I had the same issue. Amazon has a bunch of kits for like 15-20 bucks.

Yup, I had the same issue (not just with Q7) and get one of those thingies posted by previous poster that takes the play away between the hitch and receiver and you are done.

I thought the play was maddening when doing an approx. 700 mile tow. I assumed it was just because I had an SUV instead of a truck.

Ordering one of these ASP - Thanks @gerryo619 for the share!

I use the Curtis Rockerball. It tends to cut down on the for and aft noise and make the ride a bit nicer overall.

What I'd really like is an AirSafe hitch, but it extends the ball out way too far for the camper I haven't bought yet.
