Feeback Request- Lane Centering ADAS in Rain?
Just curious what folks are seeing on ADAS for the new and improved Lane Centering Assist (Premium Plus or higher package). I know with the 2025 software glitches, folks complained it would often not be available (Stop working). Was this part of the software glitches, or are the cameras too low and exposed to the elements? Has anyone noticed if rain, rain/snow immediately clogs the camera? On the BMW, the cameras are recessed further in. Also, on the new Q3, I think Audi put the radar cameras in the grill (Emblam) similar to how VW has done it for years. I am not sure if the low cameras were an issue or if the Q3 has a different system.
In my test drives on the A5, the system seemed to work very well (Centered) vs older systems on the A4. Also, did anyone notice on the 2026 A5 that they added a menu item that allows you to select "More centered" or "less centered," similar to the old Early, Late menu on the A4. That was a subtle change I saw on the 26 model at the dealer when sitting in the car.

I live in Upstate NY, and haven't had a problem with mine in any conditions. That said, I don't do enough highway driving in winter to say that it works in heavy snow or slush. In February, I did drive about 800 miles with no problems, but there wasn't a lot of snow at that time.
One thing I've noticed is that it's aware of conditions - in windy weather, it prompts to put my hands back on the wheel quite frequently. It appears to know how often it has to correct the steering, and the worse the conditions, the more it wants you ready to take over. I do have the software update, but in my case, the lane centering worked as expected before and after the udpate.
