I've had Piano Black interior trim on other cars, but I was surprised how smudged the trim got around the shifter on my S3.
I tried two solutions to this:
First, I tried wrapping the piece with clear PPF (paint protection film). This turned out fine and fixed the smudge problem. I had some PPF on hand, so it was an easy small project.
Second, I ordered some Flat Black 3M vinyl wrap. I've used 3M wrap in the past, but the technology just seems to get better and better. They've had air channel release for a while, which helps in pushing out air pocket/bubbles. This latest film had "Nano Release". and was super easy to work with.
And here's a picture of the finished product. I removed the shifter console and then removed the piano black trim from the console so I could get the best result. Still an easy job if you're looking to solve the smudge problem.

The Shifter console surround is stock. The Matte Black does match very closely, though.
I know that Amazon had a slate grey color, that might match the carbon fiber dash trim.
You could also google 3M Vinyl Wrap and I believe you can download the available color palette from them.

I guess that's a difference between the S and the RS. I've got a 2026 S and the surround is a slate/charcoal grey.
I'm not averse to Piano Black, but in high touch point areas, it's a mess
