Audi Manufacturers buyback
So I go into a dealership and start the whole trade in/new car madness they put you through and the dude comes out and says "this car is a lemon. We can't touch it and no one else will."
Turns out it had a cooling issue and Audi replaced the engine at 5000 miles. Audi auctioned it off and Carmax bought it and sold it to me. The sleaze that sold it to me told me that Audi replaced the engine but never said anything about a lemon. I know ultimately it's on me but I'm amazed that Audi would put a car back into the mix and then calls it worthless if you try to trade it in.
All the car sellers like WeBuyAnyCar and Carvana have offered substantially lower than Kelly blue (one was $11K - lol) despite the fact that I have never had any issues for over 40,000 miles. I think I'm screwed out of a bunch of money. Just surprising that Audi fixed the issue but won't stand behind it.

Yikes. That does stink. Surprised that Carmax even sold a car that was a man buyback/lemon. I thought that was one of their promises- that their cars are high quality.

On a long shot check to see if it shows on Carfax buy back program. I had a car that I purchase new and when I went to trade it in there was a mileage discrepancy that had occurred at some point during my ownership - apparently a tech had fat fingered the mileage at some point so it appeared to be a roll back. I spoke with Carfax and they said if I could not get the issue resolved they would pay the difference - I had a written standing offer for my trade when this occurred so you mileage may vary but it may be worth a shot.
