I bought a 2023 Audi S5 Prestige a little bit ago, and absolutely love it. I previously had a 2018 Q5, and I guess I didn’t realize how easy it was to tweak and upgrade the software. I had imagined that it would be a similar case on the S5, but it hasn’t been so far. My first issue is some connectivity problems with CarPlay and the somewhat prevalent crackling speaker sound. It’s been in to the dealership twice, both times they refused to upgrade the software. I’m currently on version MHI3_US_AU_P3809, but I believe there is a version P4014 out there for the US cars. I’m hoping that maybe it would solve some of the issues I’ve been having with the infotainment. I wanted to see if there were any other resources I may have overlooked to get my hands on a copy of that update. (I know mibsolution is down right now, and I wanted to see if there was another option before paying 100 dollars on MIB-Helper).

On the Q5, I was able to get the SQ5 gauges using and OBDEleven. I understand the process is way more difficult on the new systems, but I was curious if anyone had any information regarding that. I’ve seen some people able to accomplish it on their own, but I’ve only seen it done once or twice.

I was able to change the taillight animation using my OBD, but once again, I understand it is more difficult to program the headlights. I’ve seen the services that will turn on the RS animation and activate the laser and matrix capabilities (which is really what I’m after), but I truly can’t justify spending $400-500 dollars on it. Has anyone had it done, and if so was it worth it?

Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to read this or can help me out. I just wanted to make sure there wasn’t anything I’ve overlooked. I feel as though I have done a lot of searching, but keep reaching mostly dead ends. Maybe that’s just the state of these things right now, or maybe I have been looking in the wrong places.

 

Also own a 23 S5, but Premium Plus. I've tried the OBDeleven procedures to activate rear RS-style taillight animation and it did nothing, but I think this might be exclusive to the Prestige trim.

Otherwise main mods I've done are Scandinavian taillights (taillights on even during day), increase heated steering wheel temp, increase max massage time, extend soft turn-signal indicator to 4 blinks rather than 3, and finally enabling gear indicator in both D and S mode. Have either not bothered with or not had luck with anything else. I want to try seeing if I can enable the HP/torque display on the VC but haven't looked into it much to see if it's possible.

The mod I actually have considered a couple times at this point is the matrix activation, but I can't find it at a price that is justified to me, even during BF when I could get it for under $400.

 

I was able to eliminate the Start/Stop function on my 2023 S5 with OBDeleven.

 

If you have a local shop that will do the matrix activation, they may be able to do it for less than the remote options.
