Default Foot activated trunk opening?

Hi,

I have a Canadian MY25 technic A6 allroad and I cannot get the foot activated trunk to work.

I’ve read the car’s manual which indicates the feature can be turned on/off in the MMI but I cannot for the life of me locate the option in the MMI menu.

As a side note, I find the car manual so poorly worded and not all that helpful. I find the information is scattered across the manual and sometimes contradictory.

I’ve also tried scanning the car with an OBD2 scanner to see if maybe the car doesn’t have this feature but no real luck here either.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks

I don't know about the Canadian version, but my 2025 Allroad Prestige doesn't come equipped with the foot activated trunk release feature.

hah, interesting and quite possible.

surprising that it’s not an included feature for a car of this price.

the car manual suggests there is such a function.

Hello, my 2021 Allroad Premium Plus had this feature. My 2025 does not. My dealer confirmed they removed the feature. Despite the content of the owners manual, another way to confirm is to look for the warning label on the inside of the hatch. In my 2021, it was adjacent to the close/close and lock buttons. If there is no sticker, there is no feature. Audi has removed this from other models as well. I read somewhere ( that I can no longer recall) that owners were getting dinged on the head when the hatch closed unexpectedly because the owners foot was beneath the sensor when they were accessing the rear compartment, e.g., loading groceries.

I miss the feature. It was very handy.

instead of removing the feature, I wonder why Audi didn't simply change the functionality to permit a sensor swipe to open the hatch, but not let a swipe close the hatch if it was open.

yeah, i have a 21 and it was one of the first things i coded out. Pure garbage. Would open for no reason when i was just walking around the car or close when i was half in the trunk getting something out. There is even a tsb that says how to program it out when customers complain. I used it for mine with vcds.

What does the sensor look like?

We also have a MY25 Q5 and it has the feature.

It was on the Q5 I traded in too. I played with the feature as a novelty, but found it kludgy and didn't use it.
I don't miss it in my Allroad.

Foot activated trunk opening is extremely helpful, when implemented the right way...
I haven't seen one implemented the right way yet.
Maybe there are some third-party kits available? Amazon has plenty, but no reviews.
