S5 fan runtime
Hi! I just acquired a B9 S5. I have always used A-series cars, so this is my first S-series car from Audi, and I wanted to know if anyone knows if it's normal that when I shut the car off, the fan starts immediately, even when not driving hard, and stays on for about 2 minutes. I'm most probably overreacting, but if anyone could confirm, it would be a great help.

A lot of that will depend on the ambient temperatures the car has been driven in as well as the ambient temperatures of the air surrounding the car when you park it. As you do not list a physical location, we have no idea as to where you’re located.

My fan will stay on on particularly hot days or days of somewhat high load (very long drives, stop and go, high highway speeds etc). If I baby the car a bit for the few minutes before I get home it'll usually be silent.

Hi John, i live in Mexico, really hot over here. But this was at night, around 26 c.

At least where I am at, at 26C or there about, if you happen to have been driving hard before you stop, if you put it in D and drive chill for a few minutes so the oil temp drops back down towards "normal" the fan is less likely to kick on and stay on as soon as you stop.
