That's right, not only do I have to pay for a loaner...it's a mini-van. I asked when scheduling my service a couple of weeks ago what kind of loaner I was going to get for my $40 (no free loaners at Rietzl) and was told an A6. OK, that's reasonable. So I get there today and am told that the shuttle will be along shortly to bring me to the car, 20 minutes later I'm on my way. I didn't think much of it, figured maybe they keep their loaners elsewhere to free up lot space for display cars. Next thing I know I'm being dropped off at Enterprise and the shuttle leaves. The rep tells me all they have is a mini-van and asks if that will be OK. My response is no it won't, but if that's all you have I guess I don't have much choice. At this point I'm watching the time I have to catch my train dwindle. I finally get on the road headed for the train station knowing I'm going to miss my train. Fortunately traffic into Boston was light so I just hopped on the highway and made it to work on time (barely).

When I called Rietzl to question them they told me I was scheduled for an A6, but non of the A6 loaners had been returned yet and there was nothing they could do. The folks there were understanding and I appreciate that there was little they could do at the time, but I was and am infuriated by this situation.

I've said it before, Audi of America needs to make it a company policy to provide customers with loaners at service and not lay the responsibility to make such arrangements on the individual dealers. Most luxury or semi-luxury marques provide this service to their customers and if Audi wants to maintain the market share it has gained in recent years, they need to step up and offer it too.

 

My wife recently got a full size Dodge pickup from the Volvo dealer. My boss gets 2 door specks from the MB dealer all the time.

 

...the price of the cars would go through the roof. I'd rather arrange my own ride or pay for a mini-van. If you want a guaranteed loaner similar to what you drive, buy an Infiniti. 8^)

It should be an A4, or and A4 avant... I think it all depends on the dealership you goto...

 

6 have been 1999.5 Audi A4's (4 1.8ts and 2 2.8s), 1 Audi A6(2.8), and one 2001 Jetta.

 

Livermore Audi does not even provide loaners. Their first shuttle runs at 10am (due to traffic reasons which is a bunch of BS) I agree that Audi of America better step up or there are going to be hella pissed off owners out there.
