Do all 1.8T make the honk/fart noise from the divertervalve?

In my experience, sometimes...
At first my wife's car was not getting a smooth power delivery under heavy engine loads (going up a mountain or likewise). This was with the stock DV. So I took out my stock DV and got myself a Bailey since I'm running more boost (AWE K04). No more than a week later after 2½ years of high boost service on my car, her car starts honking like a gaggle of geese under the hood. Got her a Bailey DV and its solved.

Might have a leak in your intake tract.
I suggest you check your BPV clamp connections, check the IC endtank as they, too, are prone to leaks.
If all is well, might have to get your intake system pressure tested to find the culprit.
