what makes a chip perform...
i know i do not own an 1.8t thats not why im asking. im wondering here because what is stopping you guys from changing out turbos without chipping issues... why does the chip matter so much when the actual turbo has no connection to it.
TIA

and they have sensor everywhere to monitor the differnt values.
if you have a bigger turbo with "old" fuel mapping, the turbo might be blowing to much air in yet the ecu/chip was not designed to handle that much boost, rendering the big turbo not as useful.
however, since stock are are meant to run "forever" by average driver, they are set at say the 60% mark of efficiency, and a chip would raised it to sa 85% giving you the extra yet somewhat save for daily driving. of course other parts, say bpv was designed to handled the boost of the stock turbo at 60% and if you give it 85%, it will leak.
