What happens when you forget the bike is on the car
Background info,
Just got done with a hard trailwork session at a local trail, had a very bad Insulin reaction on the drive home. No accident but cops, Paramedics the whole works. Once I was recovered and fine to drive I get to the garage with my mind on other things, Namely how lucky I am to still be alive and not in a horrible car accident, And here is the result.

I forgot the bike was on the car untill I heard the CRUNCH!.
I got off lucky as the only problem are the broken dropouts. 59.99 to replace the lowers on the fork.

FYI ALWAYS remember when You have a bike on the roof or build a house with 10ft garage doors.

Condition of Car. A little better...
There is a scratch and dent on the back pillar on the drivers side where the Pedal landed when the bike flipped over in the tray. Due to location it is quite noticable and I will definitly have it looked into and fixed when I get a chance.
Sigh.
To me the car is just a transport for the bikes so damage to it does not get to me quite as bad as damage to the bike. *shruug*

I've done it once...
Luckily, the rack (Thule) was not too tight on my A4 and it slid back about 10" along the roof. I have a house paint scuff on the top of my mtn bike stem to remind me of it. No other damage to bike or car. Trim above the garage had a small dent, but we don't live there any more. 8^)

I did the same damn thing....
except my rack totally ripped off, and the bare metal screw from the wheel holder dragged across the roof...dented and scratched both the roof and the trunk.
